Where do I find the KCVA Rules? These are published on this website, you can find them under the "Rules" link on the footer of the site. Please also refer to FIVB Rules (rules of the game) and Volleyball England Regulations, which govern match procedures / administration (except where specifically moderated by KCVA Rules).

What happens if we or the opposition don't have a full team? The intended match cannot be regarded as a properly constituted fixture under KCVA Rules. A friendly may take place, but teams must advise the circumstances to the League Secretary. The ideal would be for the teams to agree to a reschedule of the match, where time / diary permits. Relevant KCVA Rule: Rule 6
-
How do I reschedule a game?Within 21 days of the original fixture date, the teams need to agree a new date for the match to be played. The new date should be within 35 days of the original fixture. This is to try to avoid backlogs of unplayed fixtures building up towards the end of a season. Teams must advise the KCVA secretary of the rearrangement. Relevant KCVA Rule: Rule 6
-
How long can a game be postponed?See answer to Q2 (What happens if we or the opposition don't have a full team?) Relevant KCVA Rule: Rule 6
-
What happens if the opposition never shows up?The procedures in Rule 6 need to be followed, referring to the KCVA League Secretary. The team who did appear for the match may have a valid claim on the points for the fixture. Relevant KCVA Rule: Rule 6
-
What happens if there is no referee for the game?Similar to Q2, these are circumstances when the intended match cannot be regarded as a properly constituted match under KCVA Rules. The procedures in Rule 6 need to be followed, referring to the KCVA League Secretary.

Equally, some players may not work locally to the match venue, so the earliest time for first service for midweek matches is 7.30pm. For weekend matches, first service must be between 9.30am and 8pm. Matches may be played outside of these times, with the agreement of both teams. Relevant KCVA Rule: - Rule 7 (b)

What competitions does KCVA offer? We currently have a Mens division and a Ladies division. We also offer a Foundation league, which is a bit more relaxed than our principal competitions. The Foundation league aims to provide a structured programme for teams of beginners, youngsters and those on the fringes of regular first team play. We provide the schedule but we leave it up to teams to just play as many games as they can. It is effectively a structured set of friendly matches. We also run Mens and Ladies KO competitions, towards the end of the season.
